A Brand UDay

I’ve been thinking a lot about India of late, memories of the incredible humanitarian trip I did there with Relief Riders International and knowing how much I want to see other parts of the nation. It is such a vast country, with so many different ecosystems and cultural shades…I feel like my experience in the North has only given me a glimpse.

In India, the Uday Foundation for Congenital Defects and Rare Blood Groups is dedicated to providing support services to the children afflicted with congenital defects, critical disorders, syndromes, and diseases that affect their health condition, education, and growth. They advocate and provide tangible service for a wide array of situations, supporting families as well as patients: everything from kids in need of organ transplants to those with gender expression issues and the shame and secrecy that haunts them. Every condition has it’s own set of needs for support, and of course, every individual brings additional variety to the equation. Uday is focused on young individuals and how best to serve them on their journey toward health.

There are volunteer opportunities with Uday working on counseling, advocacy, fund-raising, and administration and support. 20 milli0n people in India fall below the poverty line, and organizations like Uday are taking a stand to fill the chasm below them. Is there a way you can dedicate yourself to helping make sure everyone has a fighting chance?
