LucyHeadshotToday is Lucille Ball‘s birthday–she was born August 6, 1911.

I, like so many, love Lucy, and thought we could look at the charities she supported and worked with throughout her career. In addition to establishing a scholarship with her husband, Desi, at Jamestown Community College, Lucy worked with…and you can to…

*March of Dimes, now celebrating 75 years, is a leader in childhood health issues, and uses volunteers in myriad ways to accomplish its mission.

*Juvenile Diabetes/JDRF works with dedicated volunteers at events, charitable walks, government advocacy, education, office support, and more.

*Shriner’s Hospital has 22 facilities for children across the country and Canada and Mexico, caring for kids who have orthopaedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, and cleft lip and palate. They help provide expert care for families at no cost. Learn about becoming a Shriner (I can’t guarantee that the fun fez is included, but I certainly hope so).
