I’m often all about action you can take to make the world a better place, and so much of that exists in the electronic world that connects us but also isolates us as we each spend time in front of our screen of choice…sometimes I learn about amazing tools, that may also be electronic, but usable and extendable into other areas of your life.
Say Hello to Open Culture, an online resource treasure trove of “the best free cultural and educational media on the web.”
There are classes, movies, audiobooks, seminars, and more for you to explore…for instance this mind-blowing nugget just announced this week: The Getty Museum is offering over 250 FREE, downloadable art books. All those coffee table books people set out at rakish angles to prove how cultured we are, and also, kidding aside, provide inspiration and exploration…now yours in their Virtual Library. What’s even cooler is you add this to the 474 art books you can currently access from The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Guggenheim, and you have more scholarly art texts than you’re likely to page through in several lifetimes. Insta-Library!
That’s how we do 2014–making life better, effortlessly.
