The news today about Ben Affleck being cast as Batman in the new film with that hero and Superman certainly has the interwebs in a tizzy. The new Dark Knight seems to eclipse all other news, cuz, really, nothing else is really going on in the world, right?
Well, regardless of the roles he plays, Ben is a true hero in his civilian life. Because his voice has the amplification of his career status, he is our nation’s number one shouter to the rooftops about the atrocities occurring every day in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. His huge efforts on behalf of the Eastern Congo Initiative help the organization in their efforts to increase international investment, boost awareness of the war-torn region’s immense challenges, and affect changes in governmental policy on behalf of the African nation. In addition, Affleck smoothly moves into philanthropist roles with many other charities, quick to lend his name, clout, and direct effort to an array of causes here and abroad.

Adam West gave us the super-campy version of Batman that set the bar (either nosebleed high or subterranean low, depending on your preferences). He has, through the years, given his support to numerous charities, lending his name and talents to events, and occasional memorabilia to auctions to raise bucks for causes.
Michael Keaton also shows up at events as a celeb to raise the profile and raise funds for various causes. He has given particular weight to charities devoted to education opportunities and kids pursuing academic excellence.
Val Kilmer has spent many years in the philanthropic world, and directly supported, among others: First Star, shining a light on child abuse and neglect; Global Green, working toward green buildings and cities, food and water scarcity issues, and eco-causes; LIFEbeat, which is a music industry charity focused on youth and HIV/AIDS prevention; V-Day and its global work to halt violence against women and girls.
George Clooney is kind of the Grand Poobah of charitable famous folks, often putting more energy toward making the world a better place than he does toward movie-making. His Not on Our Watch charity—founded with Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, Jerry Weintraub, and David Pressman—works to end mass atrocities around the world. It is because of Clooney that many first heard of Darfur and Sudan and their outrageous situations. Clooney is also involved with dozens of other charities and philanthropic pursuits, and is well known for dropping giant chunks of change for causes and people he believes in, as well as the occasional stranger in need.
Christian Bale has a terrific focus on global ecology and animals, with his support of Greenpeace, Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, WWF/World Wildlife Fund, and others.

Meadow Hill Farm a sanctuary rescuing horses is in uegen5 nedx of hay and feed for their charges! 0not asking for money, but food! The need to stock the larder fo a month bit a day! Animals in rescue are taken in are the most desperate, neglected, abused, starved, mistreated, left to die from neglect, rescued b out of the diligence of an observer who then contacts the association who then take the in giving them a second chance at life! To know love and care! To learn to trust in humanity once again, to make sure they are no sent to slaughter they’re given a temporary home, but food is always in short supply! We are their voice! It’s a responsibility falls on the rescuers to make sure that animals are adequately cared for! Why else take them in? Not to enrich oneself, but to save lives! Often savings run out, with no option but to reach out to people for donations, which is not easy as many unscrupulous people jump on tge bandwagon, are good at spinning a yarn getting people to part with cash, which never reaches the animals in their charge! There are genuine rescuers who’ve been at it fir many many years relying to volunteers to do the grunt with, as salaries are impossible to pay! But food is needed! The cupboards are bare, weekly donations have dwindled to a bale if hay and a bag of feed! Give S few days of respite , thinking of where the next lot of food can be got! I’m begging on behalf of the sanctuary to donate bit money, but truckloads if hay and feed! Gas costs money, money that can be spent on a bale, or two of hay! When you go yo sleep tonight with a full belly, think of these horses who may not have any food for tomorrow! By buying food you can see exactly where you’re money is going! A humble sanctuary, run by good caring down yo earth lover of animal life! It’s not only wildlife that needs saving, but those that have been domesticated, then so often left to suffer, exist in misery, starving, thirsty, mistreated, abused, beaten, tortured anf often abandoned ending up in kill shelters! Rescuers are the shadows that come out at night, unknown, unseen taking care of those no one pretend yo see! They’re not rich, they don’t live luxurious lifestyles, many times have no good to eat themselves as the animals need it more! No eating in restaurants, no fancy clothing to wear, no manicures, no stylish hairdos, but humble down to earth caring humans!
