Nike is doing some creative fund-raising in response to the crisis in Japan. The “swoosh” company is calling on runners around the world to step up, literally, for charity. Join the All for Japan Challenge. The global athlete community can make a difference, and it is so easy–the goal is to raise $200,000 for relief efforts. All you have to do is put a little mileage on your shoes. For Nike+ members (if you’ve got the iPod Nike exercise package that tracks your mileage, makes exercise playlists, etc), for every mile you log when you upload your run data, Nike will donate a buck to Architecture for Humanity and their rebuilding efforts. You can give more miles or make your own donation above and beyond the initial goal here…forgive the cheeseball pun, but it is definitely a step in the right direction.
