The We Are Family Foundation was founded by musician and producer Nile Rodgers after the events of 9/11. The non-profit is dedicated to the vision of a global family by creating and supporting programs that inspire and educate the next generation about respect, understanding, and cultural diversity—all while striving to solve some of the biggest global problems. Their Three Dot Dash initiative supports global teen leaders who work on projects to promote peace by addressing basic human needs (3 dots and a dash is Morse Code for the letter “V” as in the victory sign, more commonly used as the “PEACE” sign–it’s a cool, savvy way of saying “Peace.”). This past Spring they helped create the TEDxTeen Talks, a youth-focused version of the most brilliant meeting of the minds that we have these days, the TED Talks. They have produced documentary films and music videos with industry leaders and annual events celebrating the remarkable power of young people to take stewardship and heal the world. Volunteers and Support make the world of an organization like this turn…so think of getting involved…for the future of all of us.
