TED

There are some things I discover that make me think to myself, THAT would make a great blog entry, but then assume, naahhhhh, everybody already knows that.

So if this is redundant, my apologies…and if you don’t already know TED, you’re gonna’ love this.

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to “Ideas Worth Spreading.” It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader. Along with the annual TED Conference in Long Beach, California, and the TEDGlobal conference in Oxford UK, TED includes the award-winning TEDTalks video site, the Open Translation Program, the new TEDx community program, this year’s TEDIndia Conference and the annual TED Prize.

The part that concerns you and I, is the library of free online content. Here you can see some of the world’s greatest thinkers (and speakers) in video clips that will rock your world. How to help Haiti, how to inspire children, what it is like to experience a stroke, explorations of business, science, global issues…you could visit each day and watch a 21-minute (or, often shorter) video over your morning coffee that will widen your perspective of the world. There are truly dynamic presenters who are up to changing the world.

Just like you and me.
